Wi-Fi Location Technologies
From 10 meters to .1 meter Location technologies supported in IEEE 802.11™ and in Wi-Fi® enabled devices have developed to the point that ranging as accurate as a tenth of a meter can be achieved. This presentation discusses the technologies used in Wi-Fi based location determination including Fine Timing Measurement (FTM), IEEE 802.11az-2022, Enhancements for positioning, and IEEE P802.11bk, which defines ranging protocol applicability in 320 MHz channels. Real-world use cases are provided, together with lab and interoperability test results.
