Does 802.11w (PMF) Actually Make Networks Less Secure?

Mandatory Protected Management Frames (PMF / 802.11w) in WPA3 and OWE can help with mitigation of common disconnect and steering attacks. However, PMF presents a huge security challenge as it enables bad actors to conduct more effective over-the-air man in the middle (MiTM) attacks. In this talk we will dig into the unintended consequences and security challenges presented with implementation of PMF and look at an innovative WIPS solution that addresses those challenges.
